The overall process is called velocity randomization, and the Piano roll tool we can use is called the Randomizer. We can use velocity randomization in FL Studio to more closely imitate a real performance. On top of that, human error ensures that there will be a slight variation in the velocity of each successive key, even when the pianist is trying to make them sound the same. Pianists consciously change the velocity of their key strikes while playing depending on how expressive they want each note to be. The velocity alters the tone and volume of the key being pressed. When a pianist plays the piano, we call the speed at which he or she strikes the keys the velocity. In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to randomize velocity in FL Studio. This effect will end up making your piece sound more like a human made it, and less like a computer. The FL Studio Piano roll has a neat feature that allows us to save time and add random and subtle variation to the velocity and volume of each MIDI note. Step 3: Use the Randomizer Tool to Randomize Velocity.Step 2: Use the Claw Machine (Optional).When you are happy with the settings hit start to render. This will then bring up the rendering window where you can choose what you are exporting and other details: From here you'll be asked to choose a name for the file as well as it's location. Go to the mixer window (View>Mixer) and click on the master channel. You can change the buffer size from the ASIO Control Panel, which you can open by clicking "Show ASIO Panel" You'll also need to set playback tracking to either Hybrid or Mixer. Open FL Studio, open the options menu and go to the Audio Settings and set the device to Focusrite USB ASIO.
If it isn't already, right click and select 'Set as Default Device'. In the 'Playback' and 'Recording' tabs, make sure the Focusrite/Scarlett option is selected here as the default device. Once you have installed the driver go to your computer's Control Panel > Sound option.
